This is the first in a series featuring the adventures of Arnold A. Airplane. It was inspired by the birth of my grandson Jace. I had the pleasure of taking care of Jace for about three hours one day. The last thirty minutes or so, he was asleep in my arms. As I was holding him and just looking down into his little face, my heart filled with a love I had not felt in many years. I then tried to analyze why I love him so much, since he wasn't doing anything. He was just there! So I just drank in the moments, wishing that feeling of pure love would last forever. I then thought about God's relationship with me. I have always thought I needed to perform, to be doing something for Him to make sure He will love me. But, as impossible as it seems, He loves me even more than I love Jace, and when He looks at me, His heart fills with love too. I don't need to give Him a reason to love me; He just does! All I need do is desire to be near Him. Thank you, my Father , for showing me You love me in the same way I love Jace and for sending Your Son to die for me so that I may experience your perfect love.

About the Author Bill (Grampa) Slentz is a businessman and has been married to his wife, Karen, for over 48 years. They have two children and seven grandchildren ranging in age from twenty-three years to two years. The family is very close and strong in its faith in Christ and devotion to the Church. Bill and Karen are private pilots and, like Arnold, love to be in the air. The family lives in northern Nevada.

Airplane not only has adventure and fun pictures to keep children interested, but also teaches values, morals and life lessons. Arnold is a spunky little airplane with a good heart, but gets himself into a little bit of trouble when he goes against the rules his parents gave him. Arnold learns that there are consequences for his actions. However, the little airplane also realizes that his father was by his side all along watching out for him. The first time I read this story, it took me back to my own teenage years of going outside the boundries of what my parents had taught me and reminded me of their unconditional love that kept me safe. I knew I had to have this book to read to my children, future grandchildren and the kids that I Nanny for. It is a great way to teach the concept of love and obedience, cause and effect and more, while having fun. The reading is in rhyme form and very easy-going. I love what the author has to say about his grandson, family and faith. Thank you for writing something so fun and wholesome to share with our children. We hope there are more books to follow.

What a wonderful resource for keeping children settled while parents worship.The Adventures of Arnold...Judy C By Kurt Carlson What a delightful way to present a lesson. The text is so clever and I am sure will appeal to all the children I gift it to.Last Sunday at church I sat next to a Mom struggling to keep her little children quiet. I remember those days having had 3 small stair step sons myself. Some people were firing off looks but I thought what a wonderful kind of courage she had, she needed to be fed with God's grace. I bought several copies of this book and will keep them in a spot at church, so that I can be of help.
