About the Author Potato first started riding horses around the age of 10 at a local riding stable near his home in Troy Michigan by the name of B bar M Ranch. There were close to 100 horses at the B-M and there was always something to do. In exchange for helping with the ranch chores us boys were allowed to ride the horses. Many of his close friends had their own horse but he only had a horse to ride at the B-M. The first Arabian horse he ever saw was a great mare owned by a friend and he let him ride her in gymkhana classes. This was in Michigan in the mid-fifties and there were not many Arabian horses around at that time, she was an awesome mare that was easy to ride and win the events on like pole bending and Pick-up races etc.

Potato's voice springs from the pages as if you are listening to him tell stories under a full moon campout. I loved learning about some of the great and colorful characters in endurance history.
