I'd read O'Leary's other books recently and enjoyed them.There are four parts in this book:* Love - the dating game, choosing a mate and the five languages of money* Marriage - arranged marriages (why they can sometimes work), establishing your financial independence and building the bedrock of your partnership* Kids - Give your kids an MBA (money & banking awareness), having them get a job, single parents, blended families and adopted kids, and letters from Uncle Kevin to your teenager and 20-something* Family - building your business family tree, midlife crises and money mismanagement, and giving your marriage a fighting chanceThough I couldn't relate to the chapter on kids (since I don't have any), I liked the writing style and thought it flowed well. Since I watched the author on Dragons' Den and Shark Tank, I would hear "Mr. Wonderful's" voice in his writing ... it's direct and there's no BS. Despite the wealth he has, he is constantly teaching his children the value of money. For example, when he travels and he takes his kids with him, he has no qualms about buying himself (and his wife) a first class plane ticket and economy tickets for the kids.There was a bit of a disconnect, though, when he talked about ways of saving money and one is to borrow movies from the library rather than going to the theatre. While I can't imagine him doing that today, perhaps he did things like this when his family was young and he was growing his business.There are quizzes throughout such as "Do You Speak the Same Money Language as Your Mate?" and "Are you Financially Independent in Your Marriage?" However, whoever proofread this book before it was punished needs to be fired. I cannot count the number of typos and grammatical mistakes as well as just plain f ups in the text. I am not a grammer expert but even I could do better than this.

I don't agree with some of the advice about divorce and divided assets, but Kevin O'Leary is the millionaire and I'm not. Really appreciated his no BS tone of voice and shooting straight.

By James Behtash Finally a book which covers the thought and design process for watch design! I've been searching for such a book for a very long time and came across this gem. Not only is Olivier Gamiette a talented car designer but as I've seen in his book a highly creative timepiece designer. This book provides guidance and structure to my own efforts to designing watches and I find it an invaluable resource and inspiration. In addition, the presentation is top notch all the way. It's not surprising to see a car designer also produce incredible watch designs as I've always felt the two go hand in hand beautifully. I'm looking forward to the next book!

It's reputation of spreading fear amongst the ground forces was great and this book shows just that. The phrase "death came screaming down on them" was very true in the case of the Stuka's attack. No review-- at least one from me-- can do it justice. And while I understand that Ellen Stimson may be the high priestess of the English language, selecting Natalie Stultz for her photographer was a stroke of genius on her part. These color photographs of the food, the Christmas ornaments, the winter-wonderland of Vermont, this zany family, their pets-- you want to return to them again and again. Ms. Stimson is a master at making her family's Christmas memories remind you of yours:. There is so much that she has to say about the Christmas season that made me homesick. Case in point: I tasted hot buttered rum for the first time so long ago in Kansas City, Missouri; and this family lived in St. Louis before they moved their clan of children, other animals and books to Vermont. My friend with whom I first tasted that heavenly drink has long since left this earth. And I still own the mugs that I bought to drink the rum in on those frigid Midwestern nights. Ms. Stimson includes the recipe for the drink that Atlanta winters don’t welcome as “Todd and Natascha’s Friend Amy’s Hot Buttered Rum.”The author includes literally dozens of recipes that she has collected over the years. She says her recipes and simple and easy. (I suspect they are for her.) I’m sure you will find several you want to try, or better still, get someone who loves you to make them for you. I was taken with “John’s Famous Chili,” “Decadent Mac’ n’ Cheese,” and "Guinness Beef Stew." But desserts are what a meal is all about so I moved on to “Cardamon Tapioca Pudding,” “Salted Caramel Turtles,” “Coffee Cream Puffs” and “Maple Pecan Cookies.” (Some of us advocate eating dessert first in case the house catches fire.) And Ms. Stimson probably has a potential fight on her hands with her fried chicken recipe. Every Southern cook I have ever known swears on her great-grandmother’s grave that she has the definite and only such recipe.Then there is all that talk about the ornaments (with those outrageously beautiful close-up photos of them). Ms. Stimson opens her so accessible book with this sentence: "The ornaments are the first things I would save in a fire." Each family member selects a new one every year as they make a trek to buy ornaments. But the author reminds us that "good rules, after all, are like good recipes. They are mostly just guides." You sort of have to make up the rules as you go if your littlest child sees two ornaments he cannot live without. I found the family's solution both practical and, what is more important, loving. And that white star that always is the first ornament to make it to the top of the tree each year, an ornament that has sustained several repairs throughout the years, an ornament that always beams this happy family in when they glimpse the shining tree from the window as they approach their house after dark. And of course you console a seventeen-year-old daughter who has just broken up with a boyfriend by getting her a new puppy.Ms. Stimson has a great quotation near the end of this treasure trove that most of us would probably live by:“I guess I’ll want to spend mine [old age] pretty much the way I always have. I’ll want to cook and wrap presents and sit by the fire with the people and animals I love who love me right back.”While this sort of book gets published all over the place, I predict that .AN OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS will set the standard by which the others are judged. It's quite a book. I want to send it to everyone I love.

Dive into the Holidays with this Wonderful Book By Arizona Book Lover I've never really understood the trend of writing stories inside cookbooks because frankly I'm not interested in the first time the author cooked a particular dish or why, I just want the recipe. But, Ellen Stimson's new book, "An Old-Fashioned Christmas" has recipes inside a marvelous and funny story book. And bonus, these recipes look amazing. I am seriously considering doing a "Julie and Julia" type attempt at cooking every dish in this book over the next year. Seriously...I am dying to get to those braised short ribs!I grew up in Michigan and fondly remember those long cold winters where a bowl of stew was magic and a cup of hot chocolate was the stuff of dreams. I now live in Arizona and therefore can only live vicariously through others. Ellen's book makes me long for those days when I would sit on a stool and watch my grandmother cook or bake. I want to put on my fuzziest socks and dance around my kitchen to Christmas tunes as I prepare that decadent macaroni and cheese to go along with the root beer pulled pork. I can almost taste that homemade coleslaw now.Beyond the recipes, Ellen shares her fondest Christmas memories of family, traditions, love, and laughter that surrounded her home and table. And finally, the photography is spectacular. Oh how I long for a horse drawn sleigh ride accompanied by the sun and a thermos full of homemade hot chocolate. Every ornament featured is lovely and reminiscent to my own childhood and the photo of the Christmas tree on page 263 is swoon worthy as that magnificent tree is surrounded by my favorite thing: books!Well done Ellen Stimson on bringing us another brilliant book that makes me long to leave the desert and find my own piece of country paradise.

I ordered it, having read and loved Ellen's "Mud Season," and was expecting a "Christmas decorating a la Currier and Ives-meets Martha Stewart" kind of book. But what I got was a group of heartwarming, funny family stories accompanied by recipes that had me wanting to grab the nearest rolling pin or plan a party and make beef tenderloin with gorgonzola sauce. The recipes are unfussy but delicious, and some of them are so retro you might wonder when the jello mold will appear. Well, it doesn't, but a dynamite Brady bunch cheese ball that I'm sure I'll make, does. The writing is clever but not contrived. You feel like you're almost having a conversation with her, it's so natural. Ellen has a gift for a good turn of phrase, and keeps you engaged. I got the book this afternoon and read it straight through. Once you read it, you'll wish you had started making your own "Christmas Adventure" years ago ( read the book to learn what that is). She makes you wish you lived in Vermont at Christmas, where you'd be invited to her parties, or go sledding together. She makes you want to call up that elderly aunt or grandmom and hold a cooking session to learn her secret recipe. She makes you think about spreading the Christmas cheer to not just the humans you love, but to your furry friends as well (doggie treat recipes included, although some sound delicious for humans too). I also love the way the book was organized, with explanations and lovely photos about the multitude of Christmas ornaments collected through the years, and the stories behind them. It's a real "feel good" book. Maybe I can't go sledding with Ellen down that snow covered trail, but I sure can come inside on a cold day and prepare her recipe for hot chocolate or maple bacon popcorn. I bought the book for myself, but I have a few friends and family members who will also find this book under the tree on Christmas.

When Facebook first came out I just finished college and started studying web design at open university. Back then it wasn’t most popular social network. Everyone used to be all over BEBo back then. At least in UK where I’m based. But I thought, ‘Hey, this is great’ I saw potential straight away, even before Facebook announced Fan pages in 2007. I made many mistakes and some of my attempts can’t even be named marketing. Yes, I started with spam and leaned hard, lol, but that's completely different story. As uni students, we tried many internet based businesses, and Affiliate marketing was the first one where I used Facebook. It was done with my personal profile, I spammed the hell out of it, and finally I lost my account. But hey .. It worked. I thought that it was like printing money. Then in 2007 fan pages were introduced and Facebook became huge part of every business I’m involved in. Everything changed once again when Facebook introduced Facebook ads. I even set up wedding video business without knowing anything about film making. All because of Facebook and its advertising. Why? Because I knew I can target engaged people. This social network knows everything about us. Facebook knows who we are, how old we are, where we live, what we like to do in spare time, our job, status, hobbies etc. All these information can be used by your company to target potential customers.

It’s also written as message from a friend to a friend. Very honest tone and direct statements. I’ve always used Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family abroad and I’ve known that it’s a whole universe that I still haven’t discovered. I’ve liked hundreds of Facebook pages already, but I recently had to create one for my own personal business and I found out a lot of things that I never knew about. I had to optimize it so it would be more interesting to my potential clients (and Facebook knows how to target them). The book goes trough the initial set up of a Facebook page to how to engage your audience and how to gain more followers, which is why we do it at the first place, isn’t it?Truth is you CAN go without your own website, but you CAN’T go without a Facebook page - it’s a must. This book helped me understand that without getting into unnecessary details. I learned how to make my page more approachable and how to build up the content I share. The point is not to make it viral, but to be able to reach the right users on the network. I had never thought about paid ads too. I knew they were useful and all, but seemed to uncertain and I wanted to spare as much money as I could.Anyway, I hope you find all this useful and start reading right away:)

Everything is covered here from their usual professional uses, how to find them and how to take care of them. I enjoyed learning about their characteristics and just about all I wanted to know was brought to attention here. Very detailed with informative sections and lots of advice on this breed for people like me who are very interested. So glad I found this guide, I would highly recommend it.

I purchased this vizsla guide to compare with other guides I have read and I feel satisfied because Vizsla: The Complete Owners Guide is higher writing level with good pictures. This characteristic is very attractive for readers. I got all information I needed to complement my knowledge about my dogs. Also, I feel more comfortable with the terminology to understand and train the vizslas.

By Deb Lenny watched as his grandpa, King Lion, scratched his head while he looked at the Snakes and Ladders game. Oh, my goodness! Something was terribly wrong. Grandpa didn’t even know which way was up, which way was down, and he “couldn’t remember Lenny’s name.” The once handsome, strong, and kingly looking King Lion even looked different. He sat in his rocking chair looking out of sorts and even his mane looked kind of scraggly. Lenny stood in front of him tossing a soccer ball up and down. *Hint, hint,* but grandpa wasn’t interested. “What’s that,” he asked. Something was really, truly, seriously wrong with King Lion.It grew even more confusing with time. One of the strangest things was that “grandpa’s crown [was] in the trash bin with some other things that shouldn’t have been there.” Lenny’s face grew worried when he saw not only that crown in the trash, but also his candy, a pencil, and a comb. King Lion was all nestled in his bed, but it wasn’t bedtime. Something was really, truly, seriously wrong with King Lion. Grandma tried to reassure Lenny, and explained “Don’t worry, Lenny. I’ll play with you. Grandpa’s not himself today.” Just what was wrong with grandpa King Lion? Was there anything Lenny could do to help him?This is a poignant, but excellent tale for young children whose grandparents are experiencing dementia. Of course there are many forms of dementia, but young children like Lenny only know that their grandparents are not quite right. Lenny remembers a lively, vivacious King Lion, not the grandpa that is confused and a bit mean at times. This is certainly a wonderful book that will help young children understand what’s happening as they journey with Lenny and King Lion. Lenny does learn how to help grandpa King Lion, something that may work for others. The artwork is beautiful and meshes well with the tale. This is an excellent read and discuss tale for anyone who has a family member in the throes of dementia.This book courtesy of the publisher.

Light on content, but an interesting historical read By William Van Someren It is as if a series of light very favorable news paper articles were put together to form a book... without editing. There is a good deal repetition and the writing style is charmingly typical of advertisements or company literature the period. The few facts do however demonstrate that the Pullman Palace Car Company was quite impressive in its scope and scale. It is pleasant and quaint but has too little actual content for more than three stars.

They even added some extra photos throughout to give a pictorial of the times and what was described. The story was interesting telling the evolution of the pullman car from idea to the end of the 19th century.

The patterns are incomplete. The pictures are not even the authors products. I buy pattern books i want the entire pattern. I want my money back. I have never written a bad review before but i was sorely disappionted in this book. You ought to be ashamed to sell it.

I got the book for the sock monkey hat on the cover, it's not in there.The directions are for some hat, I guess, however, no matter what picture of hat you pick, the instructions are the same. It's ok if you can look at a picture and then crochet what you see. I'm glad I didn't spend any money on it.

How to make certain things, like the cookie, is missing! I feel like the pictures are from other designers that I follow. If I could give it no stars, I would!

If you are new to either web penetration testing or kali linux, you'll learn a ton of very useful tools and techniques on how to determine hack-ability of a website. If you're not new to this, you'll be able to use this book as a great reference. YOu get tons of info and how-to's for each vulnerability. You get right to the nitty-gritty. The author attempt to help you get into the mind set of a person who would hack your site which helps to determine the various attack vectors. There were a few vectors mentioned that I did not think of, including some very useful shortcuts along the way. You could never really say this type of book is ever really "complete", but this is the most complete book I've read on the subject to date. Highly recommend it if you are on the fence.

By Hugo I liked this book because the author gives a good immersion on the theme, he introduces about the ecosystem of web applications, the needs of security, the structure, major flaws and the possible attackers. The steps to execute the penetration test are crucial and he presented the points that you need to carry on, exploring the flaws with the possible doors and the best tools. Security technology is an activity where you can never stop, you have to have caution and your team prepared to solve the flaws fast as possible.This book makes me understand what I need to do, what is more important, this subject is so dynamic that you never feel totally comfortable to deal with, but now I can see what an efficient pen test is like. So this book delivers what it promises and I would recommend for anyone who work or are interested on this topic, this book is very worthwhile.
