1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Texican By Juan de Onate Got this after it was referenced with biography of Maynard Dixon, my hero. This book started out really good for me - I liked all the time-period phrases and descriptions from the Old West. At about the 3/4 mark, it suddenly dove into liberal social drivel that, while perhaps accurate, was overly emphasized - repeatedly and long. Also the ending (not to give it away) ended up like something from a Woody Allen movie - not expected to be believed, just an ending. Personally, I can't recommend it unless you're desperate.
