About the Author KIRK LYNN is one of six coproducing artistic directors of Rude Mechs theater collective. He is the head of the Playwriting and Directing Area in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin, and received his MFA from the Michener Center for Writers. Lynn lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, the poet Carrie Fountain, and their children.

By Weiland Brilliant debut novel that is composed almost entirely of dialogue which some will argue is hard to follow along with, it isn't. That choice of using mostly dialogue made me feel like I was right there with these characters, a silent member of the pack so to say, quietly observing the varoiuois things going on throughout story. The last section was particularly tense, a real page turner. I read the whole thing in one sitting. Very smart book. I'll be following this author to see what he produces next.
2 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Not worth my time By Amazon Customer I am struggling to finish this book. It is written entirely in dialogue as if it were a play. That and the many, many f-words which I try to skim over make it a challenging read. All of the characters can be characterized as one dimensional teenage screw ups. The only positive I can think of is that it is a unique read.

By Martin Kevorkian The title of chapter 20 pretty much sums up my experience of Rules for Werewolves: "This place is awesome."One of the characters recalls how, whenever he used to get his hands on a comic book, he would hear a little voice, saying, "Step inside. Step inside." This is that kind of book.
