Simplifies and navigates you through the CE Marking documentation process By Jeri Massi Three European Directives for CE Marking are covered in this book: machinery, EMC/EMF, and low voltage devices.The book is a primer for companies new to CE Markings. It focuses on the documentation. It explains the four required documents (risk assessment, declaration of conformity, user manual, and technical file) for CE Marking. It also includes a template for an electrical component file, which the writer recommends as an essential addendum. And it supplies checklists of each piece of information that must go into each document. This manual, in and of itself, can probably go into a company's archives. If you fill out the check lists inside of it, you will create a hand written trace matrix to show that you have documented all the requirements. It's a useful book if you are new to the CE Marking process and have to create the documentation record to ensure approval.For people who are extremely new to technical writing, it also includes a two-level outline for a user manual for machinery, which is a nice feature. And it provides a sample of the Declaration of Conformity. It also includes samples of some of the checklists in completed form, showing how they can be used to track where required information has been placed.At 81 pages, it is concise and clear, but its greatest benefit is the handy assortment of check lists/trace matrices that will guide you through the writing process.
