About the Author Doug Boyce has had a life-long addiction to drag racing. He turned his first wrench at age 8 and attended his first race at age 10. He continued to fuel the fire while working 9 to 5 in the automotive field. Doug has filled what little spare time he has had writing numerous club and magazine articles related to drag racing's golden years. His has an ongoing love of drag racing and the way it used to be. He is the author of Grumpy's Toys, Junior Stock, and Drag Racing’s Quarter Miler Warriors: Then & Now, all best-selling CarTech titles.

I absolutely love all the books produced by CarTech Publishers. Every book, without exception is top-quality, both in construction, artwork, and writing The author and editors really know how to make a book readable and useful. Some group has spent a TON of time laying out this book, and making it easy for the reader.Special kudos to the photographer and editor. There is one B&W photo on most pages, illustrating the vehicle discussed in one of the "Facts." For example, check out that "Vega Wagon," Fact #371, which was built in a basement.As an example of the editing quality, notice that when you open this softbound book, the inner margins are wide enough, so that you can clearly read that portion of the page. This might seem like a minor point, but how often have you tried to read a softcover book, and the inner margins make it impossible to read the inner part of the page?Lots of fascinating facts about drag racing--both the drivers and the cars. Honestly, I can only think of good things to say about this book. Highly Recommend!Book provided by publisher for impartial review.

Doug meant detailed, interesting drag racing facts from through out drag racing history. The 1001 facts are most often detailed and comprehensive. To keep the flow of things, the book is divided into 6 chapters: Diggers Digest, Fascinating Funnies, Pro Stock Rock, the Eliminates, The Supers and the Stockers, and Tracks and End facts. Coming in at a whooping 333 pages, the book is printed on high quality paper and is well illustrated with numerous sharp, well identified photos of dragsters of all types and periods.For Drag Racing and motorheads fans, Doug Boyce's 1001 Drag Racing Facts: The Golden Age of Top Fuel, Funny Cars, Door Slammers and More is an absolute read.
