It has great screenshots which make it easy to follow. And it has an irreverent style that makes it enjoyable as well as useful. I challenge you not to smile as you read.

The shells that ran on DOS were nothing more than a gussied up "AutoMenu", remember that?Your explanation of the technological iterations of the various Windows flavors provides a good foundation for a teaching tool. I am a serious proponent of the premise that unless you know where you've been you don't know where you been or are now!Your detailed discussion of Win 8.1 functions and generous addition of "Tips & Tricks" helps a lot in not having to chase them down in the "heat of battle. Thanks again and "buena fortuna."

Adds Much Needed Intelligence to the Windows 8.1 Experience By BC This book is an excellent resource for those who are mystified by certain aspects of Windows 8.1 and those who need a handy reference guide. The author uses a clear, conversational writing style to explain the inner workings and specific steps for navigating 8.1 successfully. I also really appreciated that the book addresses security threats, features, and best practices at certain points -- definitely important for any Windows user. Highly recommend this book; would also make a nice Christmas gift!
