About the Author Steven J Thompson is a prolific Author and Foster Care Worker who resides in Biggs, California. While he has been working in the fields of politics and foster care for quite some time, writing has always been a passion of his. Recently, Steven wrote his debut book entitled, "The Daughters Daring" which he dedicates to his daughters and was inspired by the countless bedtime stories he told them when they were little. When he’s not immersed in writing and work, Steven likes to fish, hunt, and be in the great outdoors. Most importantly, he loves to spend quality time with his wonderful family. He is happily married to his wife, Angela, and together, are the proud parents of three children. They also have a few other cherished members in the family, including a pesky cat, a huge dog, three chickens, and several rabbits. Steven is a US Army Veteran who served in the Army Reserves as a Drill Sergeant. He received his degree from Chico State University. Great job Steven J By Sharleta This is a must buy for all the parent's who see the strength and courage in their children and want them to see it in themselves! To read this book that's written as an adventure they themselves could be on. Great job Steven J. Thomas for giving us your family story to pass on. I purchased a book for all of my granddaughters for Christmas. I'm looking forward to getting them the next book in this series. Sincerely Sharleta

It is delightful, and I couldn't put it down. Anyone with girls will appreciate the realistic references to uncomfortable fancy clothes, the sisters squabbling and sticking their tongues out at each other, and the pain of getting their hair brushed. I loved Mr. Thompson's creativeness and the weapons he created.The chapter sketches added interest and contribute to make this an excellent night time chapter book to read to your young ones of all ages. I'm certain this book will entertain children along with their parents and I feel very privileged to be among the first to review it, as I am sure it will be read by many. It is the best children's adventure book I have read in years. (My husband and I read our four children through their young years with many books.) For some reason it brings "The Princess and the Goblin" to mind. If you have read and enjoyed it, I feel sure you will enjoy The Daughters Daring. I laughed out loud at the comment, "Not the sharpest sword in the scabbard." Mr. Thompson's descriptions were just right and the characters were clear individuals--excellent job!It abounds with good lessons and wisdom for children--be brave; love and care for one another because family and friends are more important than petty disputes or power; freedom is not to be traded for security and equality; "fathers always love their children and value their safety more than anything else;" and more.I HIGHLY recommend this book and think it should be a long series.

By Amazon Customer For parents, teachers and librarians:Rest assured,On a technical level the book was faultless. Error free grammar, punctuation and spelling. Likable characters. Excellent pacing with every chapter ending on a cliffhanger, and all story lines resolved in a satisfying conclusion. Good dialog. World building out the wazoo delivered with just enough narration and description to help a younger reader visualize the world without putting an older reader to sleep. (Thank you Mr. Thompson!) Adventures galore, with plenty of puzzles and exploits that took courage, compassion or skill to unravel. Each plot point unlocked a key to the next mystery/challenge in a logical and enjoyable progression. Nice blend of humor with piles of action that never turned violent (Thank you again, Mr. Thompson!). Even a strong moral delivered without coming across as preachy. And check out that great cover!But who reads books for the technical chops? Instead...For the kids:Let's go guys! This is one thrill ride you do not want to miss, grab your bows and backpacks guys & gals, we're off to the enchanted forest. You can expect to meet fairies, ogres, sweet berries (yum!), poisoned pies (not so yum), gnomes (go gunners!), evil witches, goblins, hairy feet, stinky eyes, dukes, kings, knights, a duchess, some magic, some more magic and you guessed it, even more magic!So be careful. Have fun, and remember, don't eat the sweet berry pies (they're poisoned!) and don't let the ogres get you!
