About the Author
John Evans (Thailand) has over 25 years’ experience in digital graphics, initially as a graphic designer and digital illustrator, and then as a multimedia author, user interface designer, and technical writer. He is the author of several editions of Peachpit’s Adobe Photoshop Elements Classroom in a Book and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classroom in a Book, and he resides in Thailand.
Katrin Straub (Brussels, Belgium) is an artist, designer, and author who holds degrees from the FH Augsburg, ISIA Urbino, and The New School University in New York. She has authored many books, among them Adobe Creative Suite Idea Kit, Adobe Soundbooth CS3 Classroom in a Book and several versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements Classroom in a Book, Adobe Premiere Elements Classroom in a Book, and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classroom in a Book. She resides in Brussels, Belgium.

11 of 12 people found the following review helpful. Recommend for Windows By nate I use windows. Editing is new to me. I am finding this book very helpful. I'm unable to do any online exercises due to our limited connection so I'm strictly working from the book. It's gives specific instructions and tasks. Being a beginner I do have to reread instructions at times but it is not overwhelming or frustrating. I'm enjoying learning from this book. I recommend it for windows.
20 of 26 people found the following review helpful. There must be a better way. By Jersey Boy Between Adobe's clunky interface and this book's lack of clarity, I'm ready to give up. Good lord, this book is complicated. Plus you have to download the lessons by using a one-time user code that's on the inside back cover, which is easy enough, but simply setting up the thing took hours. The setup instructions (at least for Mac) are not specific, really, and boxes and buttons that are shown in the book don't always show up in the Mac version. Only the original purchaser can download the lessons with the code, but that purchaser can download them all and burn them to a CD to keep with the book for later use or passing along to someone. After three days, I'm not even into editing lesson one, that's how bad it is. YMMV.Let me add that I'n no novice at this. I've been using Macs since they were introduced and am highly skilled in the use of the computer, its HFS and interface. This book just makes everything that used to be easy, difficult.
