Avenging al Mohammed is another tale in novels involving FBI intelligence analyst and retired cop, Nicholas J. Brennan. Once again Brennan is assisted by his beautiful, sexy and smart wife, Professor Joann M. Brennan and his old Army boss NSA operative John Planner. This time the dangerous terrorist organization, the Abd-Allah Network, takes aim on the clever FBI intelligence officer. The AAN has issued a death warrant for Nick to gain revenge for the demise of Bhiren al Mohammed; a madman killed in a gunfight with Brennan in New York. When AAN secret agent Asim, "The Protector", detonates a bomb in a security line at JFK International airport the investigation commences. But investigators are tricked by AAN disinformation which leads investigators to believe a TSA agent is the bomber. At first Brennan is not aware of his status as terrorist prey but as the story unfolds he discovers he is a target and unknown to him so is Joann and their two kids Michael and Elizabeth. The trail takes Brennan, FBI agent Frank Reid, Defense Intelligence analyst Tom Carrillo and NSA supervisory analyst John Planner from the US to Ethiopia, then Karachi, Pakistan and finally back to New York. The excitement is enhanced when another AAN agent almost kills Nick and his team on a beach in Pakistan. Through careful analysis by Joann, John, Frank and Tom the crew finally figures out AAN’s direct connection to the JFK bombing and its connection to an otherwise minor money laundering operation in an Asian district of Brooklyn. As the saga concludes Nick and Joann Brennan must protect themselves as they try to find the evil operative dedicated to killing them. Asim, a talented assassin plans to murder the whole family in their beautiful home after a Saturday morning shopping spree.

By Amos Matsick After killing Al Muhammad for leading him around the globe and trashing his home, Nick Brennan is called to the test against a group of Yemeni terrorists. They want payback for the death of their boss. After a TSA agent walks a bowling ball full of composite through a screening gate at the airport and unknowingly detonates it using his own phone, Nick kicks the mission into high gear. Hurtling his team of experts from one international site to the next, Nick and his gifted wife JoAnn put their heads together to defeat another terrorist.I learned a lot about FBI protocol and the powers of deduction used in thwarting terrorist plots from reading this. The depictions of the terrorists' activities through the use of surveillance techniques made it clear that terrorists can run but they can't hide. And their's another theatrical ending where Nick counters the head terrorist's plot to kill him and defeats him one on one.

I enjoyed the first and thoroughly enjoyed the second. A quick read with a good flow and lots oftechnical, but well explained details. Looking forward to the promised next one.
