Even if you're not all into Dakar or rally racing, this book will make you smile. Walker does a great job of making his experiences both very honest and yet glorifying. It's a read that will make you laugh even while making you think hard about it.

By KiMike If you want to know what it's like for a journalist covering the Dakar, this book if for you. Written during the 2001 Dakar, there are also some insights into what it's like in west Africa in 2001. Overall an OK read. If you are looking for details on any of the competitors and how they fare, this book does not delve into these areas.
